Enriched Air Nitrox
A richer oxygen mix for repetitive recreational dives — not a way to go deeper. How we analyse, label, and teach SSI Nitrox in Havelock.

What the mix is
Enriched Air Nitrox has more oxygen and less nitrogen than ordinary air. Recreational mixes are often about 32% or 36% oxygen. Less nitrogen for a given dive can mean more no-decompression time in the usual depth range. It does not mean you go deeper.
The limit
More oxygen means you watch oxygen partial pressure. Too deep on a rich mix is an oxygen problem. So you analyse the cylinder, label it, and set the computer to that mix. Maximum operating depth (MOD) for that mix is a hard stop.
At the centre
You analyse your own tank. You match the computer. SSI Nitrox is classroom and practical work, not a sticker because it sounds fancy.
Air dives are still good dives. Nitrox helps people who will do several dives in a week, after they can already hover and plan.
