How to Reach Havelock for Scuba
Fly Port Blair, ferry to Havelock (Swaraj Dweep), dive the next morning. Makruzz, Nautika, and government windows we actually trust — no invented ticket prices.

No bridge, no Havelock airport
You land at Veer Savarkar International Airport, Port Blair. Havelock is Swaraj Dweep, across the Andaman Sea. The practical way is a ferry. That is the whole logistics problem. Get it right and the dive week is easy. Get it wrong and you burn a boat day in a jetty queue.
The usual chain
- Fly into Port Blair.
- Taxi to the ferry jetty (Haddo / Phoenix Bay area — confirm the operator’s departure point when you book the ticket).
- Cross to Havelock Jetty.
- Reach Beach No. 5 (Shangrila’s Resort). Brief the next morning.
Retreats include point-to-point drivers and Nautika luxury-class ferry on the published packages. Independent travellers book their own crossing.
Names we actually use
Makruzz, Nautika, and the government ferry. We are not a ferry agency. We will tell you which departure windows we currently trust for a dive week. We will not paste a 2024 PDF here and call it current.
Peak Christmas and New Year crossings sell out. Groups should lock the boat the same week they lock group dive dates.
Same-day dive?
If you land at noon and the ferry is 2 pm, you can still make Havelock that evening. Do not treat the hour you drop bags as a Try Scuba slot. Sleep. Dive tomorrow. Same rule as honeymoon weeks.
Coming out, leave 18–24 hours after the last tank before the Port Blair flight — flying after diving.
What to tell us
Flight numbers, ferry you think you booked, guest count, who cannot swim. WhatsApp Sai. We would rather move a slot than watch you miss the briefing because the government boat ran late.
Once you are on Havelock: scuba diving in Havelock. Wider island logic: scuba diving in Andaman.
