SSI vs PADI in Havelock

Continental Scuba teaches SSI from Beach No. 5. PADI shops exist on Havelock too. What that means for a first dive, a card, and fun dives here.

What we teach

Scuba Schools International (SSI) is the training agency. Continental Scuba is the centre on Beach No. 5. Your course card from us says SSI. Other Havelock shops teach PADI. Both are recreational scuba agencies. We are not a PADI shop.

Why people search “PADI Havelock”

PADI is the name most travellers already know. Search results fill with PADI 5-Star centres and Discover Scuba landings. That is the market. It is not a quality ranking of the reef.

If you want a PADI course, book a PADI centre. If you want SSI Open Water, Advanced, or specialties with this crew, you are in the right place. Path: SSI courses at Continental Scuba.

Cards that travel

A certification means you were taught a standard. It does not mean you know Havelock current. We take certified guests from other agencies on fun dives when the level matches the site. Bring the card.

We still brief boats, equalising, and the plan. Training with us is SSI.

First dive vs a card

  • Never dived: Try Scuba — instructor with you, not an agency card.
  • Want a card you can use on the next trip: SSI Open Water.
  • Already certified, any major agency: fun dives.

We do not publish another shop’s PADI price list. GST totals for our SSI products are on the course pages.
